Nicola Johnson, Global Recognition Manager at Cambridge English Language Assessment, talks about how the recent changes announced by the UK Visas and Immigration authority (UKVI) affect international students applying to study in the UK.
The number of Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) that can be used for a UK visa has been reduced. IELTS* has been chosen as one of only two providers to offer the test in the UK and the only provider to offer the test globally. International students can still use Cambridge English exams such as Advanced (CAE) and Proficiency (CPE) to apply for an undergraduate or postgraduate course at a UK university as long as the institution is on the Highly Trusted Sponsor list.

*IELTS is jointly owned by Cambridge English Language Assessment, British Council and IDP: IELTS Australia
