Step 1
To introduce you to the theme of animals, you will write animal names from A-Z. You have to write the name of an animal which begins with the letter A; then write the name of an animal beginning with the letter, B; etc. Until you’ve done the whole alphabet.

Do you know these words of vocabulary? If there is a new word you don’t know you can look up it’s meaning.
These words of vocabulary below are the same for animals and humans. For example:
skin leg arms head face ears nose mouth eyes
and this is some vocabulary which is used just for animals. For example:
fur tail mane hoof udder fin trunk beak wing pouch
Step 3
Write the description of your favourite animal using vocabulary in step two but without naming the animal, then find a peer, friend or someone from your family and see if they can guess the animal you described.

Now you will listen to three children describing their favourite animals. Listen and write down the name of the animal and any words you understand which the child uses to describe the animal. Answer the following question: What do humans and animals have in common? (write your answer)
