

ALIKE


Step 1
Have a look at the following sentences.
– I’m like my brother.
– My brother and I are alike.
The two sentences mean the same thing, but we use like followed by another person, while using alike goes at the end of a sentence or clause and is proceeded by the two things, places or people which are similar.
Step 2
Following is another example:
My daughter and I are really alike; we’re both quite shy and introverted.
Now write a true sentence about yourself and a member of your family using alike.
Step 3
Now you will watch a short film titled Alike in which you see a father and his son. As you watch, notice in what ways the father and son, and their lives are alike.Watch the film until minute 04:55, then pause.

Write explaining how the father and son, and their lives are alike.

How is color used in the film?
Drab whites and greys are used to represent boredom and monotony,the son is a vibrant orange, the father a bright blue but he loses his colour when he is at work and regains his colour when he is with his son, the only other bright colours in the film are the green park, brown and orange tree and the pink violinist.
